Subject: A quick game of catch-up.
I know, it's been a little while since my last sober post... my apologies. So Saturday was the last game. I managed to have a really good time with Maggie, screaming ourselves hoarse. That was kind of my plan... but anyway, the fact that Maggie and I actually united in the stands is pretty amazing! The end of the game was traumatizing! I kept tearing up during postgame and I made it through without getting too sad. Then it was time for the alma mater... I sang no more than one line before I was a mess. It was like torture. Afterwards, we took a picture on the C, and then came the shoe thing. I was originally going to march back with socks on like D Mills had suggested. But then a bunch of people were marching back barefoot for real... so I decided, if other people are going to be hardcore, then I CAN DO IT TOO! I gave my shoes to Jesse (cause she's kind of my mini-me I think) and then I took my socks off too... let me tell you... It was the most painful thing!!! Marching back, Matt Brown and I were holding hands. I was secretly trying to pull him down so I could keep my feet off of the ground... my feet were freezing cold and numb by the time I got back to the buses. It was so painful!!
But worth it, for the sake of tradition.
At senior toast, I managed to get somewhat bombed. Kate and Matt went to bed when we got home and I stayed up for another hour or two talking to other drunk seniors online. Kate and I shared a bottle of champagne and split another one with Phil and Tim Clark. It was awesome. I loved being a senior, if just for a day...
Sunday morning I called into work... it was snowing pretty hard and I didn't want to drive just to work for an hour. I worked on my paper before going to D Mills' house for the day. All of the brothers went there for our last meeting of the semester. It was fun... we spend about 5 hours running rampant through D Mills' house. He has so many games, plus a pool table, shuffleboard, foosball, etc! It was like being in my own basement again! I think we were all really craving the "homey" atmosphere. D Mills made us really good chili and cornbread, and his wife made us pine bark, which was some really good chocolate/caramel thing. Mmmm.
At night I headed over to da shelta to hang out. We ended up laughing a crapload and just having a good time. I stayed way longer than I intended, but sometimes that is necessary! Especially when Chode and I are laughing that hard! It was great.
This weekend is the band banquet, which is going to be a really great time. It is supposed to snow (surprised? Me either) but hopefully it won't be a repeat of sophomore year. You know, the one where no one could get to the hall, we ate at like 10, and danced for about half an hour before we had to go home. Yeah, that one. Also the one where someone hit my Jeep and managed to do like $11,000 worth of damage. Great night for everyone. But this year should be a lot of fun. I can't wait. Of course I still need shoes, but hey, I have 2 days, lol.
Next week is finals, which is going to be great. I am working for some hours everyday at the child labs, but other than that, I only have 1 final (to make up for the 7 I had last semester I suppose) so I am going to be over at da shelta all week partying! Then on Friday night after work, Tony and I are headed up to NH to visit his sister. We've been trying to plan a trip like this since the summer, and I think it is going to be a good time. I am really happy we're finally going to pull it off. Good times to come, no doubt! ;)
On that note, it's time to go. Peace out!
