Subject: I was naughty this weekend...
But I have been being pretty good! I've been eating well, running some great races (Great Bay Half Marathon in NH 2 weekends ago followed by the Greater Hartford 1/4 Marathon last weekend) and doing everything "right." When i saw my friend Lynn in NH (I stayed with her) the first thing she commented on was how "great" I looked and how much weight I have "lost"--- I assured her it has just been re-distributed! She's now considering coming to my marathon, which is amazing because I know she is looking for sources of inspiration now more than ever. Good for her... and more power to her!!! GO LYNN!
I started my naughty weekend on Thursday night (what am I, in college?!) by going to Tony's play (Godspell- which was very good by the way... "Jesus, that's gross") with Matt and then having a full italian meal and 2 beers at midnight when we went out afterwards. Do I ever do stuff like that?! Top it off by getting home after 1:00 am (on a work night?!?!)... I was in bed by 1:11, and I think I pulled into the garage at 1:06. Pretty impressive. I did make it to the gym before the play... but I think I spent the rest of the night negating any good work that I did! It was worth it. I hadn't seen Tony or Matt in over a month, which really sucks.
Then last night was the TC4 wine "tasting" (honestly, it was more of a "wine guzzling") and silent auction. It was crazy!! What a great opportunity to drink with your co-workers/parents of the children that you serve!! It was a huge success... I saw a child's painting go for $475!!!!!! I'm not even kidding!!!! Even I paid $40 for one that I liked. It was a great night... and we were going to go out to Pour House afterwards with my work girls and some parents (oh yes, so weird!!) but then someone (coughcoughJESSIEcoughcough) ended up booting before she could pick us up!! Haha, it was so funny. My favorite part of the night was going to the bathroom with Jessie and having her say "Hold onto me! Hold onto me!" while we were walking. We were both in pretty rough shape, but she was FAR worse! We were up late having tons of fun here though! :)
So that brings us to today... sleeping until 7:30, putting in the Princess Bride and napping, and then going to Friendly's for breakfast/lunch... and then we hung out and I ran some errands. I cleaned the apartment this afternoon and then started to get myself back on track by running a slow, easy 5K at MDC. I brought my camera along in my vibe and took some great pictures of the sun setting and the calm path in the woods... it's so nice to finally have a place like that after spending almost a year running in the city. I can't wait to do my long runs and run all the way to MDC and then run there... I'm so excited to start my marathon training. And it's so soon!! It's such a huge goal of mine and I am really looking forward to meeting it.
Time to make posters for the Boston Marathon :) Yes, I have Monday off and yes, I will be spectating at my first race ever. I am excited, especially to see Marcelo, Babs, Andy, and Gernt cross that finish line. GO LIVER!!
Boston or bust... peace.
