Subject: Winter running...
So, I came back a couple hours ago from an hour-long run outside and my lungs are just beginning to forgive me for it. It was rough for the first mile or so, but after that it was great. I warmed up pretty quickly and the rest was just another run! Tonight's run was more like a test in agility and balance than a run, though. Jumping snowbanks and plodding along flat-footed on sidewalks to avoid falling on ice hardly qualify as running! It is fun, though, I admit. I only saw one other runner out there tonight, so I was happy to be "the other one."
Knowing that running isn't going to be happening very often now that it's winter, I bought a new pair of snowboard boots (and these are actually my size, as opposed to my last pair, which was a size too small) and I have big plans for snowboarding this winter. Don't get me wrong- I am horrible. But half the fun is just getting out there and doing it. There are enough people at EMS that board, so I will never be without a person to do it with. I'm looking forward to it! That and climbing- the last time I went was about a month ago so I hardly count as a "climber," but there is a route at Prime Climb that I really want to send. It's my project for the indoor season.
Eric and I are nearly at the end of season 3 of LOST... We LOVE this show so much. It's an addiction. I bought the season on Tuesday (the day it came out) and since then, we have watched all but 6 episodes... and when I got out of work early because of the snow on Thursday, we watched a full 8 HOURS of LOST. I didn't know I could sit for that long- I do admit to falling asleep a couple times- but the show is just THAT good. The characters just suck you in.
My plan to go to school for massage therapy in January is officially not happening... even though I filled out the paperwork and everything is completed. There was just no way that I was going to be able to have my full-time job, stay at EMS as many hours as I have been, AND go to school on Wednesday nights and all day on Saturday. My biggest concern was not having enough time to run (Eric knows he is second on my list!) or enough free time to do ANYTHING. As much as I really want to go back to school, I just know now isn't that time.
That being said- I am working on being happier at my job. Trinity has been such a rollercoaster for me, and I am hoping to make it better. I just have a lot of things to be happy about- Eric, running, even something as stupid as getting furniture for our living room... I can't let the job get me down anymore. It's a work in progress...
That's all for me. Run carefully out there!
