Let it be known: This girl has a jeep.

...The location of which is Buffalo, NY until all the paperwork goes through. But hey, in a week or so? I'll be cruisin'. I'm really excited!

Couple of things going on... Getting ready to go to Shippensburg on Friday. Possibly a Pre-Ship party tomorrow night down at school with Sarah and all of our road trippers! Our friend Steph Perreaux from Belgium is visiting and we all hung out last night. It was so good to see her, and she looks awesome! After Lisa and Steph left, Katie, Munch and I waited around for Joe to get out of work so we could all go out to breakfast (this is somewhat of a tradition for us, and entails going somewhere to grab something quick to eat at 1:30 am and then driving around to some great music and hanging out). Good stuff. The three of us girls had a terrific time in the Durango and I am sure Joe was entertained to the max. It was fun. I got home at 3:20. Whew.

This morning, even though I went to bed at 4 or so, I got up early b/c my dad had to call the guy who is selling us my Jeep and talk about some things. I then went to the Y... Yes, the Y. Can you believe it? My membership ran out in early January, so I kind of just throw my card on the desk and walk away like everyone else and they usually don't check it. Hopefully they won't anytime soon... ;) (Workin' the system again, right Kate?) This afternoon brough lunch in the South dining hall (Ahhh yes, school food... mmm...) with Kate and Sarah, and then a mall trip. It was so good to hang out with my UCONN girls, I definitely missed you guys. You're irreplaceable... I love you!

I came straight to my Memere & Pepere's house in Charlton (home of Jen Brodeur!) to visit with my great uncle who is visiting from his home in Nairobi, Kenya. Can you believe that his return trip is an 8 hour flight, a 3 hour layover, and then another 8 hour flight? Ouch... No wonder he only comes once a year... So we visited with Memere, Pepere, Auntie Linda, Brian and Johnathan (little cousins), Pitou and his wife, and my Memere's cousin Norman. Definitely a good time... And what great food! Meat pie, zuccini lasagna, and for dessert, yogurt and apple pie. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful Memere!

I am pretty tired and I rented The Emperor's Club (on recommendation from a friend a long time ago) and Darkness Falls. I have to say that I am always looking for a "better" horror movie. I will see one that scares the hell out of me and then think "There has to be something better." If you have any suggestions, please make them! So, it's time to sign off and go relax with a movie.

So long, so long, front foot leads the back one, go on, and it won't be too soon...

Fun times, I think?!

Yesterday was terrific, and last night was ridiculous. It's a long one, but here goes nothing!

Yesterday I spent a good 5 hours with my mom's side of the family. It was awesome to see everyone. I haven't seen some of them since last summer's cookout before I went to school. I found out one of my distant cousins will be going to UCONN this year! So that is exciting. My great aunt (Auntie Phyllis) took my e-mail info, I'd love to talk with him. The only part that wasn't fun was watching Michelle, Keith, Sammie and Ben deal with the sudden death of their very much loved cousin, Nick. Needless to say, they are all broken hearted. It was tough to see Michelle in such bad shape. She is so outgoing and fun-loving and to watch her be low-key and down is awful. She's helped me SO MUCH throughout my life... whether it be boys, school, my parents, anything. She's always been there. I hope she finds peace and strength within herself to get through this.

The cool part about the cookout was that Bill (the guy my mom is seeing) and his daughter Jess came. Jess just graduated from Tantasqua, as I already mentioned. But we got a chance to hang out yesterday and get to know each other a little bit. After we warmed up to each other a little bit (and she wore my bathing suit, lol) I asked her if she would like to accompany me to go to Jay's at night. She accepted! She couldn't stay late b/c she had to go to Ithaca this morning, (which may have been a good thing... lol) but she came and hung out with my crew. They took to her well, and everyone got along great.

So, Jess, Munch, Sherri, Jay, Joe, Jay Moura, Coopie and I hung out last night. We swam, ate, etc. Munch and I dropped Jess off, and while we were gone, the boys set off fireworks at Jay's house so they left b/c they thought the cops were gonna come. We met them in the Subway parking lot and went back to Jay's house. We then consolidated into 2 cars and went to the DOLLHOUSE. Let me explain: The dollhouse is a sketchy little house (big enough for people, but not big enough to live in) in the middle of the woods. It is scary as hell. I can't explain really, but it's one of those things that makes my eyes tear up. So we went there, I was in Joe's car with Munch and the rest of the boys were in Jay's truck. When we got there, we stopped. The boys had been talking about getting out, and I decided to go with them. It was Jay, Jay, Jay and I. (LOL) I was scared shitless, and held their hands. It was going well, until Jay Moura said "I see something moving" just fooling around, and then a light went on next to the dollhouse! I didn't see it b/c I was behind the boys, but they all saw it. All I remember is that they turned around and there was a lot of yelling and grabbing at each other to get away from it. The next part sucked! Since I hadn't seen the light, I had NO IDEA what they were running from. All I knew is that the 3 boys were scared enough to yell and run away, and I was less than interested in finding out why. So I turned to jump back into Joe's car, only to find that he had moved it to about 500 feet up the road! I had to run, alone, to Joe's car! Scary...!

The rest of the night, my friends, is history. Good drunk times at Jay's. A couple bad moments but in general, a lot of fun. Jay and Joe RAN the beer pong table, which sucked for the rest of us! And I don't know where my brain was, but I made a few judgement calls that may have been wrong. But hey, it's all good. It was a fun night. We went to bed at 5 am (after Jay finally went swimming, GOD!!) and I got up at 7 and left to come home and sleep. Crazy times... but a good day yesterday!

And now for the sentimental part. I know a couple people going through really tough times right now. I want those people to know that they are in my prayers. My aunt forwarded this to me, and I thought it was kind of cute, so here it is:

May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

I love you guys...
