Subject: One incredible week...
Last week was AMAZING... Katie, Munch and I took off for Texas on Friday morning. We spent 5 days hanging out, going for long walks, doing pilates, visiting the University of Texas (about 3x the size of UCONN and about 10x as nice... and all in the middle of a city), 6TH STREET!!, going out to bars (COYOTE UGLY = girls dancing on bars... crazy!!! And so much fun!), eating Mexican, eating ice cream, playing with Katie's 2 1/2 year old niece Mariana, hanging out with Katie's sister Becky, having Katie's brother Mike get Katie WASTED and buying like 5 rounds at the bar, the best live music ever, monkeys in the trees, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, SAN ANTONIO, and just a damn good time. It was so crazy!
And it was the first time I've seen past graduation and seen positive things. I hope things work out... I'd love to go down there and teach...
We landed on Thursday around 3... got back to my house around 5. I was exhausted, but I wanted to see my Dad and he wasn't home yet so I hung out and cleaned out some of my room. When Dad got home, we hung out for awhile, and then I headed back to my apartment. It was so good to get home... but I really missed my girls and I REALLY missed being in Texas. Thursday night I watched Walk the Line with Kate, who fell asleep so I pretty much watched it by myself. It was a great movie...
Friday I finally did laundry and went running outside... yes outside. The weather is great. I dropped my pictures off at CVS to get developed, and then headed over to the lake house to hang out with Cody and Phil. It was fun. The 5 crazy girls who went into the arctic for spring break (Montreal---- Jess, Alicia, Jules, Laura, and Sam) came home and we watched THE VIDEO! It was hilarious, but I am sworn to secrecy. :)
When I left the house, I had plans to meet up with Ian and have a drink or something, but he ended up meeting me at Trish and Em's (where I was heading after) and he gave me my book back :) :) and then we proceeded to hang out and talk about EVERYTHING. I think we relived the past 3 years and we laughed so much. We talked about everything from the fraternity (the old one) to Ian's wedding, my freshman year, crazy parties, crazy preseasons, etc. It was amazing. The best part is that we were sitting outside on the deck... Ian almost fell off (because Rich broke the railing like 2 years ago, and surprise surprise, it hasn't been fixed yet) but we had a crazy good time.
Ian finished the night off by writing in my book, which is 3 years late but totally worth it. I walked him out to the car, and it was just great to chat, just us, even if it was only for 5 minutes. He's sweet, and I love and miss him so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great night.
I got up this morning and headed out for a run. I did 5... it's been a LONG TIME since I've run outside (or any distance for that matter, damn student teaching) and I was pretty tired. Tonight we're (and by "we" I mean Kate, Girosky, Munch and I plus about half of the fricken freshman class... awesome.) going to see Tony in Jekyll and Hyde. It should be great... he's an incredible actor and singer. For the amount of shit I give the kid, I certainly don't give him enough credit. You're crazy awesome, T-Bone................
On that note... time to rock and roll... and watch the 2-hour episode of 24 that I missed while I was in TEXAS!!!
