Subject: Update on everything.
Friday: After literally spending all day at the Child Labs, I went to Dan's concert at the Webster. He opened for Ryan Cabrera and DAMN was he (Dan) good. I even cultivated a liking for The Click Five and Ryan Cabrera himself... who knew. But Dan was so good. He really knows how to work a crowd, and I think that is so awesome. Eventually, the "right person" will see him and he'll be a star. The best part of the evening was the amount of time I got to spend with Munchie, Tim Fortin, Trish, Emily, and Trish's brother Pat. It was a lot of laughs. I felt drunk by the end of the night, it was just so much fun!
So then I went to the lake house and got drunk for real... I drank the whole bottle of wine that Tony bought for me and OHHHH BOY was I drunk. It was a lot of fun until the end of the night. I was a little too drunk to handle some stuff and I ended up crying to Paul outside for awhile. After that, I had to go home and I was still drunk so Cody drove me. He spent the night here in Kate's bed (where I put my guests, haha.)
Saturday: Drove Cody back to the lake house, where everyone was beginning to stir in the living room and Glenn was making pancakes!! Needless to say, I stayed for breakfast, which was really good after my bottle of wine, and also really good cause we had so much fun chatting about the night before. I then came home and layed on Kate's bed for a good 3 hours and talked with her- it was fun as well! I then went shopping with Trish and Em for a long time... to DSW, the mall, and Kohl's. Saturday night was one of the best parties ever- thanks to Beta Chi!!! Amazing job guys... and we went dressed up too, which was great fun. Trish, Em & I were Tom Cruise in Risky Business: with the dress shirt, tube socks, and cute sleep shorts that were almost too cute for our own good. ;) The party was crazy. Especially Jess straddling me in the middle of the living room- hooo boy.
Sunday: I worked in the morning- I suffered a little bit but not too badly. The rest of the day was spent with the brothers doing things, but all I can say is this: 1) I have a newfound respect for this organization and my passion is rekindled for music and every single brother 2) I'd never be who I am without you and 3) That day next semester is going to be very, very hard.
Today I got back to my gym regiment: 2 hours there today. I did 60 minutes of cardio (20 minutes each on the eliptical, treadmill, and bike) and it felt so damn good. I love the eliptical, but every freakin time I'm on it, the bottoms of my feet go numb, which I hate. It's pretty painful and really frustrating. Luckily, Trish has the same problem (same-same!!!) so I know I am not the only one. But anyway... let me explain for a minute my step back from running and working out. I think the main reason was because I was feeling slightly (understatement) overwhelmed by it. It's almost like I lost my passion for it because I was busting my ass so hardcore and I was so focused on the goal. I needed to step back and look at the big picture. (My PM class has heard this speech before, lol) I didn't feel good about it, but I cut my training in half and then some and it was really the best thing for me.
So now I'm back, I have 3 races lined up, and plans to do at least 2 more half-marathons in the spring. Yay!
