Subject: F-ing cold.
I got back from marching band about 35 minutes ago, and my core is still not thawed out. Yeah, cause you know how fun rehearsals are in 42 degree weather- holy crap! It was freakin cold! My feet and hands were numb for 2 hours and it was not comfortable at all!
The rest of the day was good, though. I had 2.5 hours of toddlers and 1.5 hours of preschoolers. Can I just say how much I am truly enjoying my preschoolers now? These kids are so amazing to me. I wish I could stay with them for the rest of their lives to watch them grow. I <3 preschoolers! And don't even get me started on how cute my toddlers are!
Speaking of cute, Michelle brought her kitten into the child labs today because her landlord was showing her condo and she's not supposed to have him. So she brought him in! It was so cool cause he's a little 4 month old kitten named Simba, and he was great stress relief after I did 40 minutes of dishes during nap jobs! And boy is he feisty! I have a good handful of scratches on my hands cause I was instigating him! I miss having kittens around!
I bought a down blanket yesterday and I am the happiest kid ever. It's bright pink on one side and bright peach on the other and boy is it warm. :)
Tonight was Chris Horvat's last rehearsal with us. :( It's sad cause I was just getting really comfortable with him and beginning to really enjoy everything that we (Trish, Em, Chris and I) do together: crazy movies, random drinking, etc. You get the picture. But if you see Trish and Em anytime in the next week, give them a BIG HUG cause they're gonna be sad! (And Trish, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!)
I am exhausted (sleep deprived???? haha) and I wanna go relax. Peace out. <-- That's right Jesse, I said it.
Subject: Loaded weekend.
Friday: Preschool for the morning for fieldwork. Then I ran home to move stuff from Mom's old apartment to Dad's house. I ended up running into John Cournoyer and visited his house and met his new toddler son! He is so freakin cute! It was so great to get to do some catching up, and to see the baby! Good stuff. Friday evening was rehearsal and then lip sync at Gampel, which was really a ton of fun. It was a night of firsts for me- I got to dance on the floor of Gampel under a crapload of lights... I wore jazz shoes for the first time (hey Kates, those shits are comfy!!) and it was just plain fun. Afterwards, despite the fact that I was exhausted, I met up with Munchie, Jeff, and Jeremy for a few and then Munchie left (grrr...) and the 3 of us as well as Tony, Girosky, and Glenn headed over to the Bidwell. Tony spent a ton of money on alcohol for me... I think he was just trying to get me all liquored up... he did a pretty good job! I'm not sure who was looking forward to my 21st birthday more- me or him. Anyhow, it was great to hang out with everyone- it was just like old times, which I miss more than anything. It downright sucks. By the time I came home I had cried to Kate for a little bit and I was feeling relatively sick... and it was 2 am, so I went to bed. Rightfully so.
Saturday: Got up at 9:30 to get to the field and head to Rentschler at 10:30. It was freezing cold and wet... and we lost. It was actually kind of hellish. But there was a lot of alumni at the game: Stacey, Lindsey, Jackie Hauser, Leslie, Marco, Girosky, Tony, etc. It was awesome. I miss all of them being in the band. Everyone was semi-pissy (or maybe it was just me) by the time we got back on the buses. I must have snapped at everyone at least once, which I apologize for. I was really feeling like crap. I rested the whole way home and once I got here, I showered and was planning on going to the house, but I felt so crappy. I ended up just laying down and falling asleep fairly early. Which leads me to...
Sunday: I woke up and felt like complete shit this morning. I definitely have a cold... and I feel awful. I worked with the kids at the church from 10:30-12 and then I came home and crashed... after stopping at CVS for NyQuil, DayQuil, vitamin-c drops, tissues, and a magazine (Hey! I'm sick! My defenses were not strong enough to resist Jennifer Aniston on the cover of any magazine!!) I put in LOTR: The Two Towers and napped all afternoon. I can't breathe very well so I didn't nap very well... ugh. It just sucks. Tomorrow ought to be fun with 10 hours of class and a 2 hour break during which I need to do my observations from last week- ugh. I feel so crappy!!!
On that note... I'm off to meetings for the evening and then passing out way early cause I need to kick this cold!!
I wish I could say everything I was thinking... just get it all out!! I hate it!!
Subject: Loaded weekend.
Friday: Preschool for fieldwork in the morning. Home to move boxes from Mom's old apartment to Dad's house, ended up running into John Cournoyer and going to his enormous house to visit his toddler son! He is soo freakin cute! It was good to chat and catch up a little bit. And he's catching wind of a 5-year reunion coming up... if so, there will be much drinking!!! Friday night was rehearsal then lip sync in Gampel, which was so much fun! I danced for the first time under spotlights and in complete craziness and I had the best time ever. And Munch, Jeff, and Jeremy came for me, as well as a ton of the brothers and band members to cheer us all on! It was great! Afterwards, I was exhausted but I went out to the Bidwell with Jeff, Jeremy, Tony, Matt, and Glenn. It was a good time, even though Tony bought me way too much alcohol- I think he was just trying to liquor me up... I think he has enjoyed my turning 21 more than I did... Finally we can drink together legally! By the time I got home, it was 2 am and I had endured enough pain, anxiety, and hurt to fill up the month. Some things never change...
Saturday: I slept in on Saturday morning, which was good. But I was still feeling sick (cold sick). We got on the buses for Rentschler at 10:30 am and didn't get home until about 8:30 or so. We lost the game and it poured rain nearly all day... and it was freezing cold. Awesome. Lots of alumni showed up and it was great... Lindsey, Jackie Hauser, Leslie, Becca and Tim (the newly engaged), Stacey!!!, Girosky, Tony, etc. It was great to see them all. Tension was high as we got on the buses at the end of the game... I was so pissy, I must have snapped at everyone. I apologize- I was feeling really crappy. I came home and relaxed and went to bed rather early. Which leads me to...
Sunday: Today I have a full-blown cold. I feel like complete shit, luckily I didn't have to do much today. I worked at the church from 10:30-12 and then I came back and did some dishes (it's been a way long time... Kate and I are bad at it) and rested in bed watching LOTR: The Two Towers all afternoon. I napped and tried to eat but I still feel awful. Tomorrow ought to be fun with 13 hours of class. I didn't do any of my observations last week because it was so busy, so now I have to do 2 tomorrow and turn them in tomorrow afternoon. Ugh. If only my focus child's baby sister hadn't projectile vomited on Friday... lol.
But oh well... I am loading up on the vitamin c and echinacea and all of that good stuff. NyQuil rocks my world.
Until next time...
