Subject: It was the Worst of Times, It was the Worst of Times: The story of Kate and Kelly and Ashford Hills 241
Things I will miss about Ashford Hills 241:
Living with Kate/"cuddle time"/girly days/adventures :)
Drunken Dateline/secret ceremonies/setting the ceiling on fire with Kate, Tony, and Matt :)
Apple pie-- Mike's home cookin' :)
How close I was to my friends and UCONN :)
The drive down 44 at night :)
Being closer to Southbridge and my girls :)
Being on the 2nd floor :)
Running on the scenic back roads :)
Things I will NOT miss about Ashford Hills 241:
Giant moths
Giant bugs
Bats in our walls and between our windows
Bees
Gross smells in the hallways
Landlords- all 15 or so of them
Getting screwed over all the time
The boiling temperatures in the summer
The bathroom light flickering/not working
The Darth Vader water
The internet connection titled "f**k me in the ear" that Kate used
The doors slamming
The lack of streetlights in the parking lot
Cramming 3 people into a 2-bedroom for the summer
The paint job (who paints over cables and wires?!?!??!)
Being so far away from Southington (my second home apparently)
The door not locking sometimes
The dirty appliances
The gross countertops
The "slope" of the kitchen
The other kitchen light not working ever since it filled with water during a storm last summer
The downstairs neighbors' music
The cracked ceilings
The floods in the hallway
The ugly ceramic in the bathroom
The smell in our hall closet
The dishwasher's shitty "washing" job
The dryers' shitty "drying" job
Really giant bugs in the hallways
THE ELEVATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that both Kate and I got stuck in)
Needless to say, I am moving out next Saturday (the 5th). I am really looking forward to it. Our apartment is SO CUTE and I can't wait to get into it! Plus it's nice and clean, which is the best part. The place is really nice and the people who own it are nice too. Plus, I'll be living with Chrystal and thus expanding my horizons and meeting new people and stuff, which is great. But this is the best deal- I'm 5 minutes from work, 15 minutes from Southington (where I hang out all the time), but farther from home. I guess that will be alright since Munchie and Katie are moving to Boston soon and Lisa is in Dudley. We're just gonna be really far away now... almost 2 hours for Munch and Katie. It will be the first time I am so far from them and that will kind of suck. But, I am excited cause it means when we do hang out, it's gonna be a weekend commitement and that can only mean Boston or Hartford bars and damn good times. I'm excited. :)
Yesterday we had a softball tourney (I am playing with Chrystal's team)- 3 games in the heat. It was great, but I was SO TIRED when it was over. I had some not-so-great plays and some AWESOME plays. I turned my first double play (I've only been playing 2nd for like 2 months)-- the SS (Mike) fielded the ball, flipped it to me, I got the out and threw to 1st for that out too!! I was so happy. And thanks to Matt for coming out and watching!
Today I am exhausted... I worked and ran some errands and then came back to watch Madagascar and nap all afternoon. It was nice, I felt much better and much less achy after napping.
Cody and Alicia should be home with our WINGS in a few minutes, so I am going to go. Thanks for listening to me vent a little!! This will be my last post from Ashford... next week, from HARTFORD, CT!!!!!!
